My life three years ago was not as interesting as it is in the present. I have noticed that years have let me know myself better. Time has taken me down some new avenues while leaving some of them the same. My relationships with my parents and friends are still the same. Some of my bad habits have turned to good ones, and my attitude towards life is now different.
My relationships with my parents and friend are still the same. Three years ago my parents always supported me in everything I dis, and we had very good communication regardless of the distance between us. Since I have been living by myself, I haven’t felt their absence because they have always been available when I needed their help. Similarly my friends have been faithful friends for long time. We met in high school, and since then, they have been supportive. They have always kept positive and cheerful attitudes which is the characteristic I like the most about them. I am glad that my relationships with my loved ones has stayed the same over the last three years.
Bad habits that I had three years ago have been replaced by good and productive ones. For example I use to watch You Tube videos, none of which were of benefitsto my life, or were even informative. Now in my free time I look for videos that are informative and educational. I was in love with games; my favorite was XBOX, which I spent hours playing with my friends. Now I use those hours to read and exercise. I gave away my Xbox to a child who needed it, so I could use that time in a more productive way. I was a fan of celebrity magazines; I spent hours reading and watching pictures of those people who had already achieved success in life. I changed those magazines for educational books that would help me in my career in college. I used to spend a lot of time in front of the television, which only gave me a headache because of the bad news around the word. Since I made the decision to sell my television and use the Internet as my source of information, I am able to choose what I want to watch. Now I am using my time in the right ways.
My attitude toward life was negative. I thought that goals were easy to accomplish, but when I found it difficult to reach my goals, I stared to think that goals might be too hard to reach. My attitude with people was poor. I lost my temper with people rapidly, which automatically made me a rude person with folks. Also I was undecided about what I was going to study in college, and I was negative about whether I was able to go to college. However I replaced all these negative attitudes with positive ones. Now, I think that any goal can be reached through hard work and persistence. Through the years, I discovered that If I am patient with people and tolerant with myself, my goals can be reached. My positive approach toward life had helped me to see my options better in terms of my career in college, and now I think that I am ready to succeed in my academic career. These changes have made my life more interesting than it was three years ago.
Having a strong relationship with my family and friends was a key to overcoming my bad habits and turning them into positive ones. Along with the change of attitude toward life in general, came the ability to be more responsible for my life and with my community.
